To create a safe, faith-based community where intellectually disabled adults can thrive with dignity, structure, and joy, while offering peace of mind and support to their families and caregivers.
To build a nurturing sanctuary for adults with lifelong care needs — where education, socialization, and purpose continue well beyond the classroom, and families are supported every step of the way.
My name is Aimee, and my husband and I are the proud parents of Roman — a 17-year-old autistic, non-verbal young man who requires 24-hour supervision.
We are devoted to his care, and we will gladly walk alongside him for as long as we live. But we also recognize a heartbreaking truth — one day, we won’t be here. What will happen to Roman then? Who will understand his needs? Who will love him the way we do?
Inspired by stories like that of actor Colin Farrell — who spoke courageously about preparing long-term care for his son — I began to see this journey not just through my eyes as a mother, but through Roman’s. I imagined the fear and grief he might feel losing his caregivers and being placed into a world he doesn’t understand. That’s when the vision for Harbor House of Lodi became more than an idea. It became a calling.
Harbor House of Lodi is a refuge — not just for young adults like Roman, but for every individual who depends on others for their daily care. And it’s a place of peace and belonging for their families too. It is a sanctuary that brings pride to parents and comfort to caregivers, reminding us that we are not alone.
Being a parent is already one of the hardest jobs in the world. But being the parent of a child with intellectual disabilities — a child who depends on you for every aspect of life — is a weight that is both sacred and exhausting. We carry that weight with love, but even the strongest shoulders need support.
At Harbor House of Lodi, we believe every person deserves dignity, joy, structure, and love — not just in childhood, but throughout their lifetime. We are building a program created by families, for families. And with your help, we will open our doors and our hearts to those who need it most.
whose life was forever shaped by the birth of her son Roman — a vibrant, non-verbal young man with autism who will require lifelong supervision. Fueled by love, faith, and a deep understanding of the challenges families face when caring for a dependent adult child.
Aimee founded Harbor House of Lodi to create a solution not just for her family, but for many others like hers. With over a decade of experience in healthcare and advocacy, Aimee brings a unique blend of compassion, professionalism, and unshakable commitment to this mission.
Her vision is clear: to build a sanctuary where intellectually disabled adults are seen, celebrated, and supported — and where their families can find peace of mind. Aimee leads this project with transparency, integrity, and a fierce belief that community can change lives.
